Imperial? Amber
Brewmen,
Please see my recipe for my imperial amber....though maybe not quite imperial (I hesitate to use the word malone, as i don't think a 6.8-7% is to the extreme, though I guess in the case of ambers it is). Let me call it, a SERIOUS American Amber...
7lbs American Two-row
5lbs Munich
1.25 shit tons Crystal 40L
1oz Roasted Barley
0.63lbs Corn sugar (calm down you reinhetsgabuter's (sp?))
1oz Horizon (pellet, 10.9%) FWH
1oz Cascade (whole leaf, 7.4%) 15 min
0.5oz Cascade (whole leaf, 7.4%) 5 min
0.5oz Cascade (whole leaf, 7.4%) 0min
1oz Cascade (pellets, ?AA?- inGREEDYent) dry hop
Yeast = Amerian Ale II (WY1272)
I know what you're thinking "Jester, that is only 2/3 shit ton of hops!!" well, I was hoping the fact I was using Horizon with a FWH and dry hopping Cascs would really accentuate the hops, something that shouldn't really be in an american amber, but fuck you BJCP!! I will be brewing this beer this weekend, and bringing it to the next BMG meeting (barring any kind of crazelnut incident....knock on wood).
Please let me know what you think. I am open to suggestions on this one.

Re: Imperial? Amber
Well jester, looks very good! Of course you'll want to boil the hell out of it with 2 shit tons of munich (to my knowledge, the BMG measurement "shit ton" has not been applied to munich as of yet, so for the purposes of this post, I will set it at 2.5 lbs.) you already knew that, though.

really, i didn't think 5lbs of munich was malone. I made an all munich batch once that turned out OK....maybe I will go for the 90 minute boil though

Re:
I don't think you are quite in Malone territory with 5 lbs, maybe just a shit ton or two
